First 600 homes approved
The first 600 homes to be built under the Liverpool Housing Partnership are approved by Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet. A report to the council’s Cabinet outlined 17 schemes that will draw in £97 million of investment.
Holly Lodge application submitted
A planning application has been submitted to Liverpool City Council for redevelopment of the former Holly Lodge Girls’ College in West Derby. Redrow proposes to build 51 new homes from its Regent Collection, which will help to fund the sensitive restoration of two Grade II listed buildings known as Sandheys and Fremont to create nine further homes.
Planning permission granted for first site
Planning permission granted for the first Redrow homes within Liverpool Housing Partnership. The 21 homes on the site of the former Watergate School, on Speke Road, Woolton, should be on sale by spring 2016.
Marwood Tower work begins
Work begins to transform Marwood Tower. The prominent tower block flanks a key route in and out of Liverpool city centre and the £8m revamp will see the tower – situated on land between Great Homer Street and Kirkdale Road – transformed into 81 modern apartments for over 55s.
