8 distinctive family homes for Affordable Rent on Queens Drive, offering a mixture of two and three-bedroom properties, and views over adjacent green spaces.
Hewitson Road is a striking dual aspect new-build scheme on the site of the former Larkhill Library in Tuebrook.
Located just 3.5 miles from Liverpool City Centre and two miles from the M62, the John McCall Architects-designed scheme benefits from contemporary interior spaces, private rear gardens and off-road parking.
High-quality fixtures and fittings have been installed throughout, including Magnet Kitchens, Grohe taps and Valiant boilers.
Three-bed properties also have private balconies, which overlook adjacent parkland.
Families moved in the development in June 2017, returning a once challenging site back to the community.
Hewitson Road started out as a challenging site, beset by issues relating to the previous development and anti-social behaviour.
The old Larkhill Library building had suffered years of neglect following Larkhill Library’s closure in 2012 and was demolished following a fire break-out.
Legacy issues deterred firm interest from home builders, which made the site an ideal candidate for a Liverpool Housing Partnership cross-subsidy.
LMH worked to build a local supply chain for the Hewitson Road development, including main contractor Fawley Construction whose operational base is located just three miles away in Bootle.
As well as direct employment at the site, the scheme delivered indirect employment through the wider supply chain and induced employment via spending in local shops and businesses.
